Hi there @DJ1230, and welcome to HP Support Community!

Thank you for reaching out with your concern. I'm glad to assist you today.

Let's get your HP ENVY 6455e printer back online and responsive. This issue can occur due to a communication breakdown between the printer and your network or a firmware freeze. Here are some steps to resolve it:

Perform a Power Reset

If the printer isn’t responding to the power button:

  1. Unplug the printer from the power outlet without pressing the power button.
  2. Wait 60 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in directly to a wall outlet (avoid power strips).
  4. If the printer powers on automatically, wait for it to initialize. If not, press the power button once.

Check Network Connection

Make sure your printer is connected to Wi-Fi:

  • On the printer control panel, press the Wireless button or check the Wireless icon.
  • If it’s blinking or off, reconnect using the HP Smart app:
    • Download: HP Smart
    • Follow the app instructions to reconnect your printer to Wi-Fi.

Set Printer Online in Windows

If your PC shows the printer as offline:

  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your HP ENVY 6455e and select "See what's printing".
  3. In the new window, click Printer > Use Printer Online.

Remove and Re-add the Printer

Sometimes re-adding the printer helps:

  1. Go to Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
  2. Remove the HP ENVY 6455e.
  3. Click Add device and let Windows detect and reinstall it.

Optional: Factory Reset the Printer

If nothing works, you can reset the printer:

  1. Press and hold the Wireless and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
  2. This will restore network settings and may fix firmware freezes.
