@coldwater77,Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Encountering error code UU_400_EB000A9900 while trying to set up your printer, especially when it stalls at the "firmware updates" screen, can be frustrating. Below are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:

Restart the Setup Process:

  • Disconnect the printer from the power source and any connected devices.
  • Wait for about 30 seconds before reconnecting and starting the setup process again.

Ensure Network Stability:

  • Make sure your internet connection is stable as the printer needs to stay connected for firmware updates.
  • If possible, connect your printer to the network using an Ethernet cable rather than relying on Wi-Fi.

Firmware Update Troubleshooting:

  • If the printer repeatedly hangs on firmware updates, visit HP Customer Support to see if there is a manual firmware update available for your printer model. Follow the provided instructions to update it manually.

Power Cycle the Printer:

  • Turn the printer off, unplug it from the power source, wait for at least a minute, then plug it back in and power it on.

Reset the Printer:

  • Check if a factory reset option is available for your printer model. This might involve holding down certain buttons on the printer. Refer to your printer's manual or the HP support site for specific instructions.
