never fed papers properly

HP Recommended
hp 8610

hp 8610 never fed paper properly - constantly printing a single page on 2-3 or more partially printed sheets.   I am angry and frustrated.  I'm also mad that I didn't take it back right away.  I have had it for a few years.  today I am "up to here" with it.  the ink is running low (which as we all  know is the most expensive part of the printer).   I've scanned the questions here.  this seems to be a problem that many hp customers  experience.  I have always purchased hp desk top all in one printers.  why on earth should I replace it with hp?  just to have it happen again?
