HP Envy
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone

I've just got a new laptop. Connected my printer wirelessly. All seemed fine until I tried to print double sided. In the past, flip on long edge worked a treat and all the print was the same way up.

Since new laptop, short edge and long edge are both printing as if flipped on short edge.

So frustrating.

I've added properties and defaults.

There is one annoyance that even though I've specified A4 paper size, the printer properties keep reverting too letter size.

No idea what's happened. Any thoughts and advice, please.

Thanks

Lyn

Hi  @Jay_G24

I think the printer is HP Envy 4520 series [F4F5B1]

I seem to have sorted/restored most of the problems, but when I print double-sided, the first page starts printing lower down than  you would expect for text that is at the top of the page with 'normal' margins on A4 in Word.

Thanks

Lyn

What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or device?

Thanks @Jay_24

Sadly, I don't have the luxury of an alternative Word-type app, but the same problem occurs in ppt.

 Let's try and uninstall the printer software from the root level on your PC and install the full feature printer software.

--->In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.

--->Select your HP printer.

--->Select Uninstall.

--->In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.

--->In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”

--->Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.

--->Type printui.exe /s and click OK.

--->Click on the Drivers tab.

--->Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click remove at the bottom.

--->Select OK.

--->Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.

--->Close Devices and Printers.

And then reinstall the printer full-featured drivers from software and drivers page

Also, refer to -Print Driver Settings Guide (Windows)

Let me know if this helps!

I'm afraid this could go horribly wrong with my lack of tech expertise and I end up with a printer that doesn't work at all.

Thanks for your help, but I'm abandoning for now.

Best wishes
