Hi @LeonardAlfred,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is working fine but won't print from your laptop, here are some troubleshooting steps you can try.

Basic Checks

Check Connection:

  • Ensure your printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your laptop.
  • If using a USB connection, check the cable for any damage and try a different USB port.

Restart Devices:

  • Restart both your printer and laptop to refresh connections.

Printer Settings

Set as Default Printer:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners on your laptop.
  • Find your HP printer in the list, click on it, and select Manage.
  • Click Set as default printer.

Check Printer Status:

  • Make sure your printer is not in Offline mode. You can check this in the same Printers & Scanners section by right-clicking your printer and ensuring Use Printer Offline is not checked.

Driver and Software

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Visit the HP Support website to download the latest drivers for your printer model.
  • Alternatively, you can go to Device Manager on your laptop, find your printer, right-click, and select Update driver.

Reinstall Printer:

  • In Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, remove the printer by clicking on it and selecting Remove device.
  • Then, reinstall the printer by clicking Add a printer or scanner.

Network Troubleshooting (if using Wi-Fi)

Check Network Connection:

  • Make sure your laptop is connected to the internet and can communicate with the printer.

Run Windows Printer Troubleshooter:

  • Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional troubleshooters.
  • Select Printer and follow the on-screen instructions.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
