MY PRINTER LASER JET M1136 MFP does not print the assigned pages or pages chronologically. For example, I want both sides printed, so I first print 2, 4, 6, and so on, but it does not print like that; it prints the first 14, 18, etc.

Hi @warlock3,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be glad to help you!
I understand that you are having printing issues.
If your HP LaserJet M1136 MFP is not printing pages in the correct order or not following your specified printing sequence, here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue:
1. Check Print Settings
- Print Order Settings: When printing double-sided (duplex), ensure you are selecting the correct options in your print settings. Depending on your software:
- Look for options labeled Print on Both Sides, Duplex Printing, or Page Order.
- Make sure it’s set to the desired order (e.g., Flip on Long Edge or Flip on Short Edge).
2. Update Printer Drivers
- Ensure Drivers are Up to Date: Outdated drivers can cause printing issues. Visit the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your LaserJet M1136 MFP.
3. Check Application Settings
- Software-Specific Settings: Different applications (like Word, Adobe Reader, etc.) may have their own print settings. Check the print dialog in the application you’re using to ensure that it’s configured correctly for double-sided printing.
4. Print a Test Page
- Print a Simple Document: Create a simple document with a few pages to see if the issue persists. This can help determine if it’s a specific document or a broader issue with the printer.
5. Use the Print Preview Feature
- Preview Before Printing: Always use the print preview feature in your software to see how the pages will be printed. This can help identify if the settings are correct before you print.

Hi @warlock3 ,
Please find the remaining steps below
6. Reset Printer Settings
- Restore Default Settings: You can reset the printer to its default settings:
- On the printer control panel, navigate to Menu > Service > Restore Factory Defaults.
- This will reset all settings, so you may need to reconfigure any custom settings afterward.
7. Check for Firmware Updates
- Update Printer Firmware: Firmware issues can sometimes affect printing behavior. Check the HP Support website for any available firmware updates for your model.
8. Reinstall the Printer
- Remove and Re-add the Printer: Sometimes removing and reinstalling the printer can fix persistent issues:
- On Windows, go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers, right-click your printer, and select Remove Device. Then, add it back.
9. Use a Different Connection Method
- Change Connection Method: If you are using a USB connection, try a different USB port or cable. If you’re on a network, try connecting directly via USB to see if the problem persists.
If none of the above solutions work, it might be worth contacting HP phone support.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
