Hi @shosomi,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP printer is indicating it's out of paper when it's not, there could be a few reasons for this issue.
- Paper misalignment: Sometimes, the paper might not be properly aligned in the tray. Make sure the paper stack is placed correctly and the guides are snug against the paper.
- Paper sensor issue: There might be an issue with the paper sensor. Check for any debris or foreign objects obstructing the sensor. You can also try cleaning the sensor with a soft cloth.
- Paper type and size settings: Ensure that the paper size and type settings on the printer match the actual paper loaded in the tray. Mismatched settings can sometimes cause the printer to think there's no paper.
- Paper tray issues: Check if the paper tray is properly seated in the printer. Sometimes, if the tray is not inserted correctly, it can cause paper feed problems.
- Printer firmware update: Make sure your printer has the latest firmware installed. Sometimes, firmware updates can address such issues.
- Reset the printer: Try turning off the printer, unplugging it from the power source, and leaving it unplugged for a few minutes. Then, plug it back in and turn it on again. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
