went to print a word doc and excel doc in colour but only b/w, in settings and page setup the option in paper/layout to change to colour in not showing, have tried ticking box "print in background colours". carnt remember which but sometimes there is an option to change to colour but when i select it it changes back to b/w saying reset due to conflict with printer settings but carnt find any think else to change. prints ok in photos, test page etc. there is ink in printer, contacted support but every think suggested failed. ran all troubleshooting and fixing options but no help at all. any ideas , suggestions or help much appreciated thanks bob.

@bob6364, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
I understand you are not able to print in color from MS Office applications. Let us try these steps:
Uninstall the printer from your computer by going to the Control panel and also delete the printer from devices and printers.
Install the printer using the TCP/IP port:
- On the PC, go to Control panel > Devices and printers > Add a printer(at the top)
- Under 'Choose a device or printer', click on 'The printer I want isn't listed'.
- Select 'Add a printer using a TCP/IP address'
- Find the IP address of the printer by tapping on the wireless/ethernet icon on the printer screen
- Type in the 'IP address in Hostname or IP address' box, click next
- Proceed to the next steps by following the on-screen instructions.
- Try printing in color.
If the issue persists, Install the printer using Windows built-in driver
Refer to this document to know how. Try printing.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
