HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 PCL 3

officejet pro 6970 is not printing in full color. colors are muted and not all are being used. I have run all tests. I have all new ink cartridges. printing is set for general printing on regular paper,  Black is not black, but more gray/brown.  Green is more lime/yellow. Blue is pink/red. Red is red/pink.  Help Please!

I'd like to help!

 

To better assist you - 

 

1) Does the copy print out the same way? 

2) What's the application you are trying to print from? Have you tried printing from a different application or devices? 

 

While you respond to that, let's print a Print Quality Diagnostic page -

  1. Load plain white paper in the input tray.

  2. From the printer control panel, open the Setup  menu.

  3. Open the Reports or Tools menu.

  4. Touch Print Quality Report.

Post the Print Quality Diagnostic page here so we can help you further.

Also, try updating the printer's firmware - HP Printers - Updating or Upgrading Printer Firmware

Thanks for your reply.  However, I had finally discovered that it was the cyan cartridge (brand new x 2) ink jet that was not working properly.  We tried everything, and just decide to buy a new printer.  Sadly, because our old printer (Officejet pro 6978) was just over 4 years old. I feel they should last longer than only 4 years for the money that is spent on these printers.  Anyway, thanks for trying to help, but a day too late (or 2).  🙂
