@BHCHARBEL,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A growling or grinding noise in your HP OfficeJet Pro 8725 while printing could be due to a mechanical issue such as:

Possible Causes & Solutions

 Obstruction in the Paper Path or Gears

 Check for debris – Open the printer and inspect for any jammed paper bits, dust, or foreign objects inside.
 Manually move the carriage – With the printer off, gently slide the printhead carriage left and right to see if it moves smoothly.

Worn or Misaligned Rollers

 Clean the rollers using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
 Check if rollers are loose or misaligned. If they are damaged, they may need replacement.

Carriage Belt Issue

Open the front cover and inspect the carriage belt (the rubber belt that moves the printhead). If it’s frayed or loose, it may need servicing.

 Gears Inside the Printer

Sometimes internal gears get worn out, especially if the printer is old. Listen carefully to locate where the noise is coming from.

 Firmware or Software Issue

 Update firmware – Outdated firmware can sometimes cause unexpected behavior.
 Perform a hard reset – Unplug the printer while it’s on, wait 60 seconds, then plug it back in.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
