photosmart 6520
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

photosmart 6520 woudlnt print in color, only b&w, also quality print test from printer gives same result. tried also with new cartridges and new hp software installed. any help appreciated.. thank you

Check the ink cartridge vents

  1. Open the ink cartridge access door.

    Open the cartridge access door

  2. Press the tab on the front of the ink cartridge to release it, and then pull it out of the slot.

    Remove the cartridge from the slot

  3. Examine the vent area on the top of the ink cartridge.

  4. If the vent is clogged, use a pin to gently remove excess adhesive from the vent.

    2. Gently remove excess adhesive from the vent

    3. Unclogged vent

  5. Make sure the orange pull tab is completely removed.

  6. Insert the ink cartridge into its slot. Press down until it snaps into place.

  7. Repeat these steps for any other ink cartridges with defects on the report.

  8. After reinserting all the ink cartridges, run your finger along the top of the ink cartridges. If any are protruding, press down firmly until each ink cartridge snaps into place.

Thank you but i went through these steps the cartridges are perfectly in place and label left no obsruction to the vent. and its only black printing. is there anything else i can try please? thank you

This seems to be a cartridge issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.
