In all colors or just a specific color? If one color then likely the toner cartridge is low or defective. One defective cartridge can cause other colors to not print properly due to improper biasing in the High Voltage Power Supply. On the control panel there should be an option under reports to print a print quality page which can give you better insight into what is going on.
