My 2800 prints green instead of black. Scan works fine B&W and Colored, but when I print a photo manually thru phone or laptop the image result is green or light green. Like, the black part affected and turns to green. How to fix it? Or what's the problem? My black ink is newly installed cartridge.

Hi @Ann0206,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try the following steps:

Check Ink Cartridges

Ensure Black Ink is Installed Properly

  • Remove the black ink cartridge and reinstall it securely.
  • Clean the cartridge contacts with a dry lint-free cloth.

Check Ink Levels

  • Open the HP Smart App on your phone/laptop.
  • Go to Printer Status and check if the black ink is low or not recognized.

Use Genuine HP Cartridges

  • If using third-party ink, it may cause incorrect color printing.

Run Printhead Cleaning (HP Utility)

  1. Open HP Smart App or go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click on your printer > Printing Preferences.
  3. Go to Maintenance > Clean Printhead.
  4. Print a test page. If the black ink is missing, run the cleaning 2-3 times.

Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
  2. Remove the ink cartridges.
  3. Wait 5 minutes, then reconnect the power and reinstall the cartridges.
  4. Print a test page.

Update Printer Firmware & Drivers

  • Go to HP Support and download the latest firmware.
  • Install updated printer drivers on your laptop.

Test with Another Black Cartridge

  • If the issue persists, your black ink cartridge may be faulty.
  • Try replacing it with another HP genuine black cartridge.

Check for Clogged Nozzles

  1. Print a Print Quality Diagnostic Page (from printer settings).
  2. If black ink is missing or streaky, soak the cartridge nozzle in warm water for 5-10 minutes.
  3. Dry it completely before reinstalling.
