Hi @Tominator3

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand that you are facing your print command from a phone or laptop appears as a pending job and the printer doesn't respond, here are some steps you can take to resolve the issue:

Check Printer Connectivity

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Network Settings or Network Status.
  • Confirm that the printer shows Connected to WiFi or Ethernet.
  • Print a Network Configuration Page (usually under Reports or Settings) to verify connection details.
  • Ensure your phone or laptop is connected to the same WiFi network as the printer.

Restart Devices

  1. Power off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  2. Wait for about 30 seconds.
  3. Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  4. Restart your phone or laptop.
  5. This clears temporary glitches and refreshes connections.

Check for Error Messages

  • Look at the printer’s display for any error codes or blinking lights.
  • Common issues include paper jams, low ink, or offline status.
  • Resolve any errors before attempting to print again.

Update Printer Drivers or Software

  • On your computer, go to the HP Support website and search for your printer model.
  • Download and install the latest drivers and software updates.
  • On smartphones, use the HP Smart app to manage printer settings and check for updates.
  • Updated drivers often fix compatibility issues with newer operating systems.

Remove and Re‑add the Printer

  • On your phone or laptop, go to Printer Settings.
  • Remove or delete the printer from the device’s list.
  • Readd the printer:
    • On computers: go to Add Printer and follow the setup wizard.
    • On smartphones: open the HP Smart app, tap Add Printer, and follow the guided steps.

On Windows

  1. Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog.
  2. Type services.msc and press Enter.
  3. In the Services window, scroll down and find Print Spooler.
  4. Rightclick Print Spooler and select Stop.
  5. Open File Explorer and go to: C:\Windows\System32\spool\PRINTERS
  6. Delete all files in this folder (these are the stuck print jobs).
  7. Go back to the Services window, rightclick Print Spooler, and select Start.
  8. Try printing again.

On Smartphones (HP Smart App)

  1. Open the HP Smart app.
  2. Go to your printer’s settings.
  3. Check the Print Queue.
  4. Cancel or delete any pending jobs.
  5. Retry printing after clearing.
