Hi @Julie286

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like your printer is displaying an error message, and you can't access the menu to resolve it, especially after changing your internet provider. This might be causing issues with the printer's network settings, preventing it from connecting to the new network. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you resolve the issue:

1. Reset Network Settings on the Printer

Since you changed internet providers, your printer needs to be connected to the new Wi-Fi network. You can reset the network settings on your printer to clear out the old settings.

  • On the printer’s control panel, look for the Wireless or Network Settings menu (depending on your model).
    • If you can’t get into the menu due to the error message, try the following steps:
    • For HP printers (such as HP OfficeJet, Smart Tank, etc.), you can often reset the network settings by performing a network reset.

Steps for HP Printers (general guide):

  • Turn off the printer.
  • Press and hold the wireless button (usually a blue light or icon with signal waves) and the cancel button (red X or triangle) at the same time.
  • While holding both buttons, turn on the printer.
  • Keep holding the buttons until the wireless light flashes or you see a message confirming the reset of network settings.

After this, the printer’s network settings should be reset, and you can reconfigure it to connect to your new Wi-Fi network.

2. Connect to the New Wi-Fi Network

Now that the network settings have been reset, you need to connect the printer to the new Wi-Fi network.

Steps for HP printers to reconnect to Wi-Fi:

  • Go to the Wi-Fi settings on your printer:
    • For many HP printers, you can navigate to the Network Setup or Wireless Settings menu (either on the printer's touchscreen or via the button navigation).
  • Select your new Wi-Fi network from the list of available networks.
  • Enter the new Wi-Fi password when prompted.
  • The printer should now be connected to the new network. You can confirm by checking the wireless icon on the printer’s screen, or it may display a successful connection message.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
