Hi @john19449,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand the error code "0x0oF81D42 TRKernel C" on your HP OfficeJet 6958 All-in-One Printer usually indicates a firmware or hardware issue. Here are some steps you can take to try and resolve the problem:
1. Restart the Printer
- Turn off the printer using the power button.
- Unplug the printer from the power source.
- Wait for about 60 seconds.
- Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
2. Check for Firmware UpdatesUpdate the firmware on an HP printer
- Go to the HP Support website.
- Enter your printer model (OfficeJet 6958) and look for firmware updates.
- Download and install any available updates.
3. Reset the Printer
- With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
- Wait for 60 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and the printer.
- Turn on the printer.
4. Clear the Print Queue
- On your computer, go to the Control Panel and open Devices and Printers.
- Right-click on your HP OfficeJet 6958 and select "See what's printing".
- Cancel all pending print jobs.
5. Check for Paper Jams or Obstructions
- Open all access doors and remove any paper jams or obstructions.
- Make sure there are no small pieces of paper stuck inside the printer.
6. Reset the Printing System (Mac)
- Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
- Right-click (or Control-click) in the list of printers and select "Reset printing system".
- Add your printer again.
7. Reinstall the Printer Drivers
- Uninstall the current printer drivers from your computer.
- Go to the HP Support website and download the latest drivers for your printer.
- Install the new drivers.
