Hi @lil22

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're experiencing a bit of a disconnect between your printer and the internet, even though it's showing as connected to Wi-Fi. This can be a bit tricky to troubleshoot, but let's work through it step-by-step to try to resolve the issue.

Steps to Resolve "Printer Not Connected to Internet" Issue

1. Check Wi-Fi Connection

Even though your printer shows a solid blue Wi-Fi light, it’s important to double-check if the printer is actually connected to the correct Wi-Fi network. Here’s what you can do:

  • Print a Network Configuration Report from the printer's control panel (usually under Settings > Network Setup > Print Network Configuration). This will give you a detailed overview of the connection status.
  • Ensure the printer is connected to the same Wi-Fi network as your computer or mobile device.

2. Verify Internet Connectivity

Just because the printer is connected to Wi-Fi doesn’t necessarily mean it’s able to access the internet. You can check by trying to:

  • Open a web page or app on your computer or mobile device to confirm the Wi-Fi network has internet access.
  • Try printing from the printer's web services or HP ePrint to see if it connects to the internet.

3. Check Printer's Web Services Settings

Some printers use HP Web Services (e.g., for ePrint) to connect to the internet and print remotely. If these services are not enabled, you might get an error about the printer not being connected to the internet.

  • On the printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Printer Services > Web Services (or similar).
  • Ensure that Web Services is enabled. If it's not, enable it and try again.

4. Reset Wi-Fi Settings on Printer

Sometimes, the connection may need to be reset to reconnect to the internet properly:

  • On the printer’s control panel, navigate to Settings > Network Setup > Restore Network Settings or something similar.
  • This will erase the Wi-Fi settings, and you’ll need to reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi network by following the Wi-Fi setup wizard again.

5. Update Printer Firmware

Outdated firmware can cause connectivity issues. You can update the printer’s firmware:

  • On the printer, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Firmware Update (if available).
  • Alternatively, you can check for updates using the HP Smart app or the HP Support Assistant on your computer.

6. Reinstall Printer Software and Drivers

Sometimes the issue might be on your computer, not the printer itself. Try reinstalling the printer drivers and HP Smart app on your device:

  • Uninstall the printer software from your computer.
  • Download the latest drivers from the HP support website.
  • Reinstall the printer using the latest software package.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
