Hi @MimPap,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP 6555e is connected to Wi-Fi and can scan, but it won’t print and shows the error “Printer has experienced an unexpected configuration problem – 0x80004005.” Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Remove and re-add the printer
– Open Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.
– Remove the HP 6555e, restart the laptop, and add it again. Make sure to select the network version of the printer.

Restart the Print Spooler service
– Press Win + R, type “services.msc,” and open it.
– Find Print Spooler, right-click, and select Restart.
– Try printing once it restarts.

Reinstall the HP Smart app
– Remove HP Smart from the laptop and reinstall it from the Microsoft Store.
– Open the app and reconnect the printer to refresh communication.

Check for Windows updates
– Go to Settings > Windows Update.
– Install any pending or optional updates, as outdated system files can trigger configuration errors.

Reconnect the printer using its IP address
– Print a Network Configuration Page from the printer to note the IP address.
– Add a new printer in Windows using “Add manually” and enter the IP. This can bypass communication glitches.

Reset the printer’s network connection
– On the printer, press and hold the Wi-Fi and Cancel buttons together for 5 seconds.
– Reconnect the printer to your Wi-Fi through HP Smart and test printing again.

I hope this helps.
