i was printing when the black ink had to be replaced. After replacing the ink the printer screen gave a printer failure message. It says "There is a problem with your printer/ink system". It suggested I turn off and then on the printer but message was still there. (Didn't) work.

This looks like a potential hardware issue.
However, if you have performed all the steps from this document and still having issues, then the printer needs service/replacement.
