I understand you are getting the "printer failure" message without an issue code on your HP Officejet 6700 Premium E-All-In-One Printer can be frustrating. Here are steps you can follow to troubleshoot and hopefully resolve the issue:

1. Power Cycle the Printer

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord from both the printer and the wall outlet.
  2. Wait for 60 seconds.
  3. Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet and then into the printer.
  4. Turn on the printer.

2. Check for Paper Jams

  1. Open the printer and inspect for any paper jams.
  2. Remove any jammed paper carefully.
  3. Close all covers securely.

3. Check Ink Cartridges

  1. Open the ink cartridge access door.
  2. Remove the new magenta cartridge and check it for any packaging material or obstructions.
  3. Reinsert the magenta cartridge ensuring it clicks into place.
  4. Check all other cartridges to ensure they are properly seated and not low or empty.

4. Perform a Printer Reset

  1. With the printer on, disconnect the power cord from the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the wall outlet.
  3. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the wall outlet and then to the printer.
  5. Turn on the printer.

5. Update Printer Firmware Update the firmware on an HP printer

  2. Download and install the latest driver from the HP website.
  3. Restart your computer and try printing again.
