Hi @Bear02,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
A "Printer Failure" message on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8630 can be caused by several issues. Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.
Power Cycle the Printer:
- Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
- Wait for at least 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.
- Check if the error message persists after rebooting the printer.
Check for Paper Jams:
- Open the printer's paper tray and check for any paper jams or obstructions.
- Carefully remove any paper that might be stuck in the printer.
Check for Ink or Printhead Issues:
- Open the printer and check the ink cartridges and printhead for proper installation.
- If there’s an issue with the printhead, you might need to clean it or replace it.
- You can also try reseating the ink cartridges to ensure they are properly aligned.
Reset the Printer:
- Perform a hard reset by pressing and holding the power button for 15-20 seconds.
- After releasing the button, wait for the printer to reboot and check if the error clears.
Check for Firmware Updates:
- Sometimes, a firmware update can resolve underlying issues.
- Check if there’s a firmware update available via the printer’s settings or using the HP Support website.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
