Hello! Someone please help. I have a printer failure message on my HP Office Jet Pro 8600. When I try to print from my cell phone, it says my printer is out of ink. When I do the home diagnostic it says everything is fine, but shows the blue is out of ink. I replaced my blue cartridge 2x and still it says printer failure. I plugged/unplugged and turned the printer on and off numerous times, but still I have a printer failure. pls help!

@Angela37BC, Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand how frustrating it can be when your printer shows a failure message even after replacing the ink cartridge. Let’s walk through some steps to help resolve this issue.
Check Cartridge Authenticity
Make sure you're using genuine HP ink cartridges. Non-HP or refilled cartridges can sometimes cause detection issues.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts
- Turn off the printer and unplug it.
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Remove the cyan cartridge.
- Gently clean the copper-colored contacts on the cartridge and the corresponding contacts inside the printer using a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.
- Let it dry for 5 minutes.
- Reinsert the cartridge and close the door.
- Plug in and power on the printer.
Reset the Printer
- With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
- Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
Update Printer Firmware
Outdated firmware can cause cartridge recognition issues.

Printhead Cleaning
If the cyan ink still isn’t detected, the printhead might be clogged or faulty.
- From the printer control panel, go to Setup > Tools > Clean Printhead.
- Run the cleaning cycle and check the print quality report.

I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
