@vmh3, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.

The error code 0X83C0000A typically indicates a firmware or hardware initialization issue. Here's a step-by-step guide to help you resolve it:

Disconnect USB or Network Cable

  • If your printer is connected via USB, unplug the cable from the rear.
  • If it's connected via Wi-Fi or Ethernet, leave it connected.

Remove Ink Cartridges

  • Open the cartridge access door.
  • Carefully remove the cartridges even if they appear stuck. If they’re immobile, skip this step and proceed.

Power Cycle the Printer

  • With the printer turned on, unplug the power cord from the rear of the printer and from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.

Reconnect Power

  • Plug the power cord back into the printer and wall outlet.
  • Turn the printer on.
  • Check if the error clears and if the cartridge carriage becomes movable.

Reinstall Cartridges (if removed earlier)

  • Reinsert the cartridges securely.
  • Close the cartridge access door.

Update Firmware (if accessible)
