HI @1848,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To troubleshoot your HP OfficeJet 4500 not recognizing the Wi-Fi passphrase, try the following steps:

Steps to Resolve Wi-Fi Connection Issues

Check the Passphrase:

  • Ensure that you're entering the correct Wi-Fi passphrase (case-sensitive). Double-check for any typos or extra spaces.

Restart the Printer and Router:

  • Power off your printer and unplug it for a minute. Also, restart your Wi-Fi router by unplugging it for about 30 seconds and then plugging it back in.

Use WPS (If Available):

  • If your router supports WPS, press the WPS button on the router and then try to connect your printer using the WPS method through the printer's control panel.

Manually Connect to Wi-Fi:

  • On the printer's control panel, go to Network or Wireless Settings.
  • Select Wireless Setup Wizard and choose your network from the list.
  • Enter the Wi-Fi passphrase carefully.

Reset Network Settings:

  • If the above steps don’t work, you can reset the network settings on the printer:
    • Go to Setup > Network > Restore Network Defaults.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer on the HP website and apply them if needed.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
