Hi @Lozza7,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your printer immediately cancels a print job, it can be due to several reasons, including software issues, connectivity problems, or printer settings. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and resolve the issue:

1. Restart the Printer and Computer

  • Turn off your printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Restart your computer.Plug the printer back in and turn it on.
  • Try printing the PDF again.

2. Check the Print Queue

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers (or System Preferences > Printers & Scanners on a Mac).
  • Right-click on your printer and select See what's printing.
  • Cancel all pending print jobs and try printing the PDF again.

3. Update or Reinstall Printer Driver

  • Visit the HP website and download the latest driver for your printer model.Uninstall the current driver from your computer.
  • Install the new driver and try printing again.

4. Check PDF File

  • Open the PDF in a different PDF viewer (such as Adobe Acrobat Reader) to ensure the file is not corrupted.
  • Try printing a different PDF file to see if the issue is specific to one document.

5. Check Printer Settings

  • Ensure the printer is set as the default printer.
  • Make sure there are no specific settings (like "Print to File") that could be causing the issue.
  • Check for any settings that might cause the printer to cancel jobs (such as paper size mismatches).

6. Use Different Printing Method

  • If you are printing from a browser or a specific application, try saving the PDF and printing directly from a dedicated PDF reader like Adobe Acrobat Reader.

7. Update Printer Firmware

  • Go to the HP website and check for any firmware updates for your printer model.Download and install any available updates.

8. Check for Connectivity Issues

  • Ensure your printer is properly connected to your network or directly to your computer.
  • If you are using a wireless connection, try connecting the printer via USB to see if the issue persists.

9. Reset Printer Settings

  • Resetting the printer to factory defaults can sometimes resolve printing issues.Refer to your printer’s manual or the HP website for instructions on how to perform a factory reset.

10. Run HP Print and scan doctor.

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool from the HP website.Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix the printing issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
