Hi @tudor85,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

When your printer shows as offline and won't print, there are several troubleshooting steps you can take to bring it back online:

1. Check Printer Connectivity

  • Make sure the printer is powered on and all lights on the printer are stable.
  • If your printer is connected via Wi-Fi, check the wireless connection:
    • Ensure the Wi-Fi indicator on the printer is lit and shows a stable connection.Restart your printer and router to reset the network connection.
  • For printers connected via Ethernet cable, check the cable connections at both ends (printer and router/switch).

2. Restart Devices

  • Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source, wait for about 1-2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.Restart your wireless router or modem to refresh the network connection.Sometimes, restarting your computer can resolve communication issues with the printer.

3. Set Printer Online (Windows)

  • Press Win + R, type control printers, and press Enter.Right-click on your printer and ensure that the Use Printer Online option is checked.
  • Sometimes, stuck print jobs can cause the printer to appear offline. Clear all print jobs from the printer queue.

4. Check Printer Configuration (Network Printers)

  • Use the printer’s control panel to print a network configuration or status page. This will show the printer’s IP address and connectivity status.
  • Ensure that the printer’s IP address matches the IP range of your network. If it doesn’t, update the printer’s IP settings accordingly.

5. Reinstall Printer Driver

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers.Right-click on your printer and select Remove device.
  • Visit the HP website and download the latest driver for your printer model.Install the driver following the on-screen instructions, and reconnect the printer to the network during setup.

6. Check Firewall/Antivirus Settings:

  • Sometimes, security software can block printer communication. Temporarily disable firewall or antivirus software, then try printing again.

7. Reset Printer:

  • Consult your printer’s manual or the HP website for instructions on how to perform a factory reset. This will reset all settings to default.

8. Update Printer Firmware:

  • Visit the printer HP website and check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model.
  • Follow the instructions provided to download and install the firmware update.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
