Hi @pwillys,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thank you for contacting HP. We understand your HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer is not functioning after the printer lid was slammed shut. The power light is blinking, the copy function is unresponsive, and the display shows "0 copy" with no way to change it.

This may indicate a mechanical or internal sensor issue caused by the force of the lid closing. Here are the recommended steps:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

This can often clear temporary hardware errors.

  1. Power on the printer, if it’s not already on.
  2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer while it is still on.
  3. Wait 60 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the power cord to the printer and the wall outlet directly (not through a surge protector).
  5. Turn the printer back on and check if the blinking stops and copying works.

2. Check for Physical Obstructions or Damage

Since the lid was slammed:

  • Lift the scanner lid and check for:
    • Loose or dislodged plastic components.
    • Cracked scanner bed glass.
    • Misaligned or stuck scanner arm or internal parts.

If anything looks broken or misaligned, the printer may require service.

3. Reset Copy Settings (if responsive)

If the display and buttons respond:

  • Try pressing the Copy button again and use the Up/Down arrows to change the copy number to 1.
  • Then press Start Copy.

If the printer doesn’t respond to input,

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
