My HP envy 4504 printer will only print a quarter of a picture. It prints work documents fine. I just got a new HP computer so I am just setting it up Windows 11

@KZJCF, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

First, check the print settings. Make sure it's not set to "shrink to fit" which can mess up your image. If it’s all good there, try updating the printer drivers from the HP website. Click here

If you’re printing wirelessly, check your connection to make sure everything’s stable. Sometimes, weak Wi-Fi signals can mess with the print job. If it’s still cutting off the image, try printing directly from the computer via USB. This can rule out any wireless issues and make sure the problem isn’t with your network.

You may try using HP Smart to manage your printer settings and check for updates. It can help you troubleshoot and make sure everything is set up correctly. If that doesn’t do the trick, run HP Print and Scan Doctor. It’s an awesome tool that automatically detects and fixes any printer problems.

Also, try printing a different image format (like JPEG if you’re using PNG).

Lastly, check your paper size in the settings, sometimes it’s set wrong. If none of that works, uninstall and reinstall the printer with the latest drivers.

Also, you may use the following guides for reference:

None if these solutions helped. Now when I try to print a photo it no longer prints a quarter page, and it doesn't even show up in the que. Also if I try to print a graphic from Word such as a box or circle, it won't print the page. All text pages are fine. I did the HP printer DR. and everything was fine. test print was good.

Hey, thank you for your response.

Looks like your HP Envy is being a bit picky with photos and graphics, let’s try a few more things to get it back on track.

Let’s get this printer back in action! 💪📸

Restart the Printer and Computer

  • Turn off the printer. Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
  • Wait for at least 60 seconds. Plug the power cord back in and turn on the printer.
  • Restart your computer to ensure there are no pending software issues.

Check Printer Settings

  • Go to Start > Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners. Select your HP Envy printer, then click on Manage. From there, click Printing Preferences. Look for settings such as “Fit to Page,” or “Shrink to Fit”.

Check Paper Size Settings

  • In both the print dialogue and printer preferences, make sure the paper size (A4, Letter, etc.) matches what you are physically using. If the wrong paper size is selected, your document or photo could either be cut off or not print at all.

Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Go to Control PanelProgramsPrograms and Features. Find and uninstall any HP printer software.
  • Go to the HP Customer Support—Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and download the latest drivers. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the drivers.

Update Printer Firmware (Update the firmware on an HP printer | HP® Support)

  • Go to the HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads page. Enter your printer model number and search for the latest firmware update. Follow the instructions to download and install the firmware update.

Try a Printer Port

  • You mentioned printing wirelessly. Try connecting your printer to the computer via USB to rule out network or wireless communication issues.

Test Another Image Format and Document Type

  • If you were trying to print a PNG file, try saving it as a JPEG and printing again.

I hope these steps help resolve the issue
