Hi @Kamal663

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

I’m really sorry this has interrupted your printing—it’s frustrating when everything seems ready and then a jam stops the flow.

Let’s gently guide your printer back to action with a few careful checks.

Step-by-step actions to resolve E4 (Paper Jam) error

Turn off the printer

  • Unplug the power cord and wait 30 seconds before reconnecting. This helps reset the error state.

Remove all paper from input and output trays

  • Gently pull out any loaded paper and set it aside.
  • Check for torn pieces or curled sheets that may be stuck inside.

Open all accessible doors and panels

  • Lift the scanner lid and open the rear access door (if available).
  • Use a flashlight to inspect the paper path for any debris or jammed sheets.

Remove jammed paper carefully

  • If you see paper inside, grasp it with both hands and pull slowly in the direction of the paper path.
  • Avoid tearing the paper—any leftover fragments can trigger the error again.

Clean the paper feed rollers

  • Use a lint-free cloth lightly moistened with distilled water.
  • Gently wipe the rollers and let them dry completely before closing the printer.

Reload paper and restart

  • Reload clean, flat sheets of plain paper.
  • Power on the printer and try printing again.

Let me know if the error persists after these steps—I can guide you through checking sensor alignment or running a paper feed diagnostic.

You’re doing everything right by addressing this early and carefully.
