Hi @Tracy128,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

May I know if are you getting any printer offline errors?

If you're facing issues printing from your desktop PC to your new HP Deskjet 2720 printer, despite being able to print from your phone and after having tried common troubleshooting steps without success, there might be a few areas worth exploring that haven't been covered yet. Here are some additional suggestions that could help resolve the issue:

Driver Compatibility: Ensure that the drivers installed for your HP Deskjet 2720 are specifically for Windows 11. Sometimes, drivers meant for earlier versions of Windows might not work correctly with Windows 11.

Correct Installation: Make sure the printer is installed correctly on your desktop. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners to check if your printer is listed. If it's there, try removing it and then add it again. This time, let Windows 11 search for and install the necessary drivers automatically.

Printer Spooler Service: The Printer Spooler service might be having issues. Try restarting this service:

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Scroll down to find the Print Spooler service.
  • Right-click on it and select Restart.
  • Try printing again after this service restarts.

Network Configuration: If your printer is connected to your network (Wi-Fi or Ethernet), ensure that both your desktop and printer are on the same network. Sometimes, network settings or firewall configurations can prevent communication between your desktop and the printer.

Software Conflicts: There might be a conflict with another piece of software on your desktop. Consider performing a clean boot to disable all non-Microsoft services and then try printing. This can help identify if a specific software is causing the issue. To perform a clean boot, type System Configuration in the Windows search bar, go to the Services tab, check Hide all Microsoft services, and then click Disable all.

Windows Update: Ensure your Windows 11 is up to date. Sometimes, printing issues can be resolved with an update that includes patches for known bugs or compatibility issues.

Firewall/Antivirus Settings: Sometimes, firewall or antivirus settings might block the printer software from functioning properly. Check your firewall or antivirus settings to ensure they are not blocking your printer software.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
