My printer is an HP Office Jet Pro 9015e All In One

Product Number 1G5L3A

Serial #TH339570HG

I have unplugged the printer and let it sit for days, even uninstalled and reinstalled the printer, changed the cartridge it is asking for twice, but still says I need to replace the cartridge

Hi @vr2021,

Thanks for sharing the details.

I can understand how frustrating it must be to deal with a printer that’s not acknowledging a new cartridge, especially after trying multiple troubleshooting steps. Let’s go through a few more things to check and try to get your printer working again.

  • Are you seeing any specific error messages on the printer’s display or through the HP Smart app, other than the cartridge issue?
  • When installing the new cartridge, does it click into place properly and securely?

Let's try these steps.

Recheck Cartridge Installation:

  • Open the printer’s cartridge door and carefully remove the cartridge.
  • Reinstall the new cartridge, ensuring it is seated properly and clicks into place securely.

Reset the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the power source and leave it unplugged for at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the printer back in, power it on, and see if it recognizes the cartridge.

Clean the Cartridge Contacts:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  • Remove the cartridge and gently clean the copper contacts on both the cartridge and the printer using a lint-free cloth or a cotton swab dipped in water. Dry them thoroughly before reinstalling.

Perform a Printer Reset:

  • On your printer’s control panel, go to Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Defaults (if available).
  • This will reset the printer’s settings and can sometimes resolve cartridge recognition issues.

Check for Firmware Updates:

  • Open the HP Smart app or visit the printer’s Settings to check for any available firmware updates.
  • Install any updates, as they may fix bugs related to cartridge recognition.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
