Hi @Diane358,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP OfficeJet 4650 All-in-One Printer stopped working suddenly and won't turn on, here are some troubleshooting steps to help resolve the issue.

Check the Power Source:

  • Make sure the printer is properly plugged into a working electrical outlet. You can try plugging another device into the same outlet to verify that it's working.
  • If you're using a power strip, plug the printer directly into the wall to rule out issues with the strip.

Power Cable and Plug:

  • Inspect the power cable for any visible damage. If the cable looks worn out or damaged, it may need to be replaced.
  • Try a different power cable (if available) to see if the cable is the issue.

Reset the Printer:

  • Unplug the printer from the electrical outlet.
  • Wait for at least 30 seconds to 1 minute.
  • Plug the printer back in and try turning it on again.

Look for Error Lights or Sounds:

  • Check the printer for any blinking lights or unusual sounds when you attempt to turn it on. This can provide clues about the underlying issue.

Check for Overheating:

  • If the printer was in use for an extended period, it could have overheated. Let it cool down for 30 minutes to an hour and then try turning it on again.

Perform a Hard Reset (if possible):

  • Press and hold the power button for at least 10-15 seconds to perform a hard reset. This can sometimes help reset internal components.

Try a Different Outlet:

  • Plug the printer into a different outlet to rule out an issue with the current one.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
