Hi @kg22222,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with the print queue, driver, or printer settings. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot this issue:

1. Check Printer Connection

  • Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for 2 minutes, then plug it back in and turn it on.
  • Reconnect the Printer: Ensure the printer is connected to your computer via WiFi or USB, as intended.
  • Ping the Printer: If connected via WiFi, verify the printer's IP address (found on the printer's display screen under network settings). Then, open a Command Prompt and type: ping [printer's IP address]
If it responds, the printer is properly connected.

2. Check Printer Status in Windows

Set as Default Printer:

  • Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners.
  • Select your HP OfficeJet Pro 8710, click Manage, then click Set as default printer.

Clear Print Queue:

  • In the same menu, click Open print queue.
  • Cancel any stuck jobs.

Ensure Printer is Online:

  • Right-click the printer in the Devices and Printers section of the Control Panel and ensure "Use Printer Offline" is unchecked.

3. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers Software and Drivers for HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer series

  1. Uninstall the Current Driver:
    • Go to Control Panel > Programs > Programs and Features and uninstall any HP printer software.
  2. Download the Latest Driver:
    • Visit HP's Support Page for the OfficeJet Pro 8710 and download the latest full-feature driver for Windows 11.
  3. Reinstall:
    • Run the installer and follow the on-screen prompts.

4. Check Print Spooler Service

  • Press Win + R, type services.msc, and press Enter.
  • Find Print Spooler, ensure it's running, and set to Automatic.
  • If stopped, right-click and click Start.

5. Test a Different Application

  • Try printing from another app (e.g., Word, Notepad) to see if the issue is app-specific.

6. Test Printer via HP Smart App HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

  • Open the HP Smart app, go to Printer Status, and try printing a test page.

7. Run HP Print and Scan Doctor HP Print and Scan Doctor

  • Download and run the HP Print and Scan Doctor to automatically detect and fix printer-related issues.

8. Reset the Printer

  1. On the printer's control panel, go to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Settings.
  2. Reconnect the printer to your network or computer after the reset.

  • Firewall/Antivirus: Temporarily disable your firewall or antivirus software to see if it's blocking communication.
  • Firmware Update: Update the printer's firmware via the HP Smart app or printer's control panel. Update the firmware on an HP printer
