printing envelopes

i’m getting a paper mismatch error on my HPENVY 6500 series printer when I print envelopes.  In printer preferences I’ve selected Envelope for Paper Size but there is no option for envelopes in Paper Type.  What am i missing?

Not sure -

There are a number of places to check / verify / modify the paper size / type (Tray and Paper)

• The printer supports standard weight and sized Envelopes.
• The printer supports Custom Paper Size forms.
• The printer might NOT support envelopes made of paper heavier than a standard type envelope (plain paper 20 to 24lb / 75-90 gsm)) regardless of the size. For example, the printer supports Professional Paper / Brochure paper (180 gsm) but that paper type is not supported in other than standard sizes (for example, Letter, A4)

Top Ribbon > Print Server Properties > Tab Forms

Tab Paper / Quality > Custom setting box

Note

After setting / creating your Custom Form in Printing Preferences,

Save the setup and Exit Printing Preferences.

(Re)Open Printing Preferences and check the paper list for your new custom paper size form.

After loading the paper / envelopes according to the instructions in the user manual,

Alert the printer to the paper size and type.

What if?

Note that not all printers support the paper size "Custom" using EWS - It does not mean you cannot use a custom size, only that you cannot tell the printer ahead of time about the size using EWS.
