Hi @bhatsaqib,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is printing half of the document on one page and the other half on a separate page when printing from your laptop via USB, there are several potential causes and solutions to consider:

Potential Causes and Solutions:

Page Setup and Paper Size:

  • Ensure that the page setup in your document and the paper size selected in your printer settings match. If the document is set to a different paper size (e.g., A4) than what is loaded in the printer (e.g., Letter), this mismatch can cause the printer to split the print job across two pages.

Print Driver Settings:

  • Check the print driver settings on your laptop. Make sure the paper size, orientation (portrait or landscape), and other print settings (e.g., scaling options) are correctly configured to match the document and paper settings.

Document Format and Margins:

  • Verify the document's margins and formatting. Sometimes, if the margins are set too wide or if the content is too close to the edge of the page, the printer may split the content between pages.

Print Preview:

  • Before printing, use the print preview feature in your document software to see how the document will appear on the page. This can help identify any formatting issues that might cause the printer to split the print job.

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure that you have the latest printer drivers installed on your laptop. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause printing issues. Visit the HP website to download and install the latest drivers for your printer model.

Printer Firmware Update:

  • Check if there are any firmware updates available for your printer. Firmware updates can sometimes resolve printing and communication issues between the printer and your laptop.

USB Cable and Connection:

  • Ensure that the USB cable connecting your laptop to the printer is securely plugged in on both ends and is not damaged. A loose or faulty connection can cause print jobs to split or fail.

Printer Settings on Control Panel:

  • On the printer's control panel, check the default settings and adjust any settings related to paper handling or page layout that might be causing the issue.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
