My printer is continually printing pages.  I can cancel them on the printer but it will begin printing again.  The first page of the printing is as follows:

) HP-PCL XL;3;0;Comment Copyright (c) 1999-2011 Hewlett-Packard Coproration

Then it will continue to print several more pages with unknown signs and x's.  Again, if I cancel that printing, the same thing will begin to print over and over.  I have turned the printer off and back on, unplugged the printer and powered it back up AND restarted my computer and still have this issue.

Welcome to HP Forums. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips.

I have gone through your Post and would like to help

May I know since when are you facing this issue?

I suggest you download and run the HP Print And Scan Doctor from this Link: https://support.hp.com/us-en/help/printscandoctor and let me know if that helps

Run PSDR v5.0.2

Once the PSDR detects the Printer, it will show up the IP address and Software Status.

Select the correct Printer and click on Next.

PSDR will check if the Printer is on the Network and communication between the PC and the Printer. Once the connection check is done, click on Fix Printing

Once PSDR goes through all checks and automatic fixes, click on Print a test page.

Regardless if PSDR printed the test page or not, click on “NO PRINT”

PSDR will then notify you that there is an update available, click on continue, and PSDR will apply the patch and ask for a reboot.

Post restart the PSDR will run automatically to check for more issue.  If no issue found close PSDR.

Also follow the instructions in this Link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02205477 for Print Jobs Stuck in Print Queue

Keep me posted how it goes

Thank you and have a great day 😊
