Office Jet 4655
Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite

I have an HP Office Jet 4655 and I get an error message saying: "Ink cartridge problem - Remove and reinstall ink cartridge making sure it is correctly installed". I have replaced both cartridges with brand new genuine HP cartridges and I still get this message. Two months ago I ended up buying an Office Jet 5200, which uses the same cartridge and after 60 days I started getting the same message so I returned it yesterday. I am now trying to bring the 4655 back to life - this cannot be a permanent problem. Either the cartridges are defective or something is off with the printer. I can scan just fine, but I cannot print or copy. Please help. I am running out of time and patience. Starting to hate HP.

If you have already performed the steps from the document HP Printer Does not Print and Error Indicates Faulty Ink Cartridge and the issue persists, it could be a hardware failure.

 

Please reach out to the HP Support in your region regarding the service options for your printer.
