Hi @PaulNesbitt-55,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 9025 is showing a “Printhead Problem – appears not to be installed” error even after cleaning. Let’s go through a few steps to check what could be causing this.

Power Reset the Printer

Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord for 60 seconds.

Reconnect and power back on to clear temporary electronics faults.

Reseat the Printhead

Open the ink access door and carefully remove the printhead assembly.

Check for any protective tape, debris, or dried ink on the electrical contacts.

Wipe the contacts gently with a lint‑free cloth slightly dampened with distilled water.

Reinsert the printhead firmly until it clicks into place.

Check Ink Cartridges

Remove all cartridges and inspect for damage or leaks.

Reinstall them one by one, ensuring each clicks securely.

A loose cartridge can trigger a printhead error.

Update Firmware

Use the HP Smart app or Embedded Web Server to check for firmware updates.

Updates often fix recognition issues between the printer and printhead.

Run Printer Diagnostics

On the control panel, navigate to Setup > Printer Maintenance > Printhead Health.

If the test fails, it confirms the printer is not detecting the printhead correctly.

Try a Hard Reset of Settings

On the printer menu, restore factory defaults.

This clears any corrupted configuration that may block printhead detection.

I hope this helps.
