I have a "Supply problem" error message that stops the printer working. It persists even when I replace the toner cartridges. Apparently this is due to a firmware update (it seems amazing to me that HP would send out a firmware update that disables their own printers and hasn't fixed it months later). I'm exasperated.

Please can someone tell me how to roll back the firmware to a version that works?

I've had the exact same issue. It's impossible to find an old firmware version. Now my printer and ink are useless. Very unethical behavior from HP. I will never buy a HP product again.

Google it you can find users blogs and websites from other users with instructions and links to firmware.

I have, but for the Officejet 6600 there's nothing usable. HP did back-track on bricking a load of printers in 2017 and released the old firmware for those models.  You can find them, but the 6600 is not included. I did think I found an old Officejet 6600 Windows firmware, but it wouldn't run. Surely I can't be the only 6600 owner who's having this problem? I can't remember even being so disappointed in a company.
