I understand you are getting the red light on your HP DeskJet 2721e All-in-One Printer, which typically indicates an error that needs to be resolved. 

 

Here are some steps you can follow to troubleshoot and fix the issue:

 

Check for Error Messages:

  • Look at the printer's display (if it has one) or on your computer screen for any error messages that might give more details about the problem.

Check Ink Cartridges:

  • Make sure the ink cartridges are installed correctly.
  • Remove and reinstall the cartridges to ensure they are seated properly.
  • Check if the ink cartridges are empty or damaged. Replace them if necessary.

Check for Paper Jams:

  • Open the printer and check for any paper jams or obstructions.
  • Remove any jammed paper carefully to avoid damaging the printer.

Check the Paper Tray:

  • Ensure the paper is loaded correctly in the input tray.
  • Make sure the paper guides are adjusted properly to hold the paper securely.

Reset the Printer:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from the power source.
  • Wait for about 60 seconds and then plug it back in and turn it on.

Update Printer Firmware:  Update the firmware on an HP printer

  • Make sure your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for firmware updates through the HP Smart app or the HP support website.

Use the HP Smart App:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your computer or mobile device and check for any maintenance or diagnostic tools that might help identify and resolve the issue.
