Need to change printer settings.  It shows "1 page" only at the top and won't let me select multiple pages to print, just 1-2.

Hi @waterwoman9

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

If your printer only shows “1 page” and won’t let you select multiple pages to print, the issue likely stems from the print dialog settings or the app you're printing from. You can resolve this by adjusting the page range and print preferences.

Step-by-Step Recovery

1. Use the Correct Print Dialog

Make sure you're using the full print dialog, not the simplified one.

  • In apps like Word, Excel, or PDF viewers, press Ctrl + P.
  • Click “More settings” or “Printer Properties” to expand the full dialog.
  • Look for the “Pages” field and enter the desired range:
    • Example: 1-5, 2,4,6, or 1-3,5-7

If the field is grayed out or limited to “1–2,” continue below.

2. Check Document Page Count

Sometimes the app misreads the document length.

  • Open the document and scroll to the end.
  • Confirm it has more than 2 pages.
  • If it’s a PDF, try printing from Adobe Acrobat Reader instead of the browser.

3. Adjust Printer Preferences

Your printer driver may be limiting page selection.

  • Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers
  • Right-click your printer > Printing Preferences
  • Check for settings under:
    • Page Range
    • Paper Size
    • Advanced > Document Options

Make sure “Print All Pages” or “Page Range” is enabled.

4. Reinstall or Update the Printer Driver

Corrupted drivers can restrict print options.

Visit:
HP Printer Drivers and Software

Download and install the latest driver for your model.

Restart your computer and try printing again.

5. Use HP’s Print Settings Guide

For detailed steps on adjusting page range and layout:

Let me know which app you're printing from and your printer model—those details will help tailor the steps further. You're close to getting full control over your page selection again.
