I have the hp officejet 5746 printer. Ink cartridge in the printer sticker is 62 and I put in 61xl and the error message is Remove and reinstall the indicated ink cartridge, making sure it is correctly installed, and then touch ok. I tried to remove and install it couple of times. But still it gives me the error message. Maybe the ink size that I put has to be exactly 62 and not 61xl

Yes, you need only 62 for OJ 574x printers as indicated: Ink cartridge information for HP OfficeJet 5740, 5741, 5742, 5743, 5744, 5745, and 5746 e-All-in-One printers.
