Thank you for sharing the photo; it’s very helpful. I can clearly see three orange lights illuminated on your HP DeskJet 2820 series printer:
- Cancel (X)
- Wi-Fi
- Information (i)
This usually indicates a critical error state where the printer firmware is stuck, often due to incomplete initialization, corrupted settings, or a failed update.
Steps to Fix the Issue
1. Perform a Hard Reset
- Turn off the printer.
- Unplug the power cord from the printer and the wall outlet.
- Wait 60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and turn it on.
2. Force a Factory Reset
Since the buttons are unresponsive, use the key combination reset:
- With the printer powered on, press and hold:
- Cancel (X) + Information (i) together for 5–10 seconds.
- Release when all lights flash, then wait for the printer to restart.
3. Check for Jam or Cartridge Issues
- Open the cartridge access door.
- Remove both cartridges and inspect for tape or debris.
- Reinsert cartridges firmly.
4. Update Firmware
If the printer boots normally after reset:
- Go to HP DeskJet 2820 All-in-One Printer | HP® Support and update the firmware for your model.
