Printer: HP ENVY Photo 6220 All-In-One Printer

 

The printer displays the following error 

"the indicated cartridges are not communicating correctly with the printer"

 

I have read

None of which helped.

 

I can conclude all threads can basically be summarised by the last link I gave. That is, I have tried:

  • Resetting the printer (no use)
  • Clean the ink cartridge and carriage electrical contacts (no use)
  • Single cartridge mode (works for black but not tricolor issue persists)

 

There are so many threads about this. Why am I paying a monthly subscription for cartridges that don't work. And if there is an error they decide not to send you more cartridges?

After HP support sent me a replacement ink cartridge it began working straight away.

This response is really useless.  I tried to find the private message icon.  Not there.  I clicked on the link only to be told I did not have sufficient credibility to access the resources!  What?  What kind of support is this?  NON EXISTENT!  I have tried to find a phone number where I can speak to a real live person about my problem.  The phone number keeps telling me it is experiencing a problem!  This is ridiculous!

I see that you are not able to use the Instant Ink service due to an ink cartridge issue. What is the exact error message you get?

I have just changed the colour cartridge and had the above message

I have been trying to find a way of communicating with HP about the problem - this is the only way

the virtual assistant is extremely virtual and no use

I dont know whether this message will be read by a human at HP - but their system of communication is dreadful - I use Ubuntu and although HP claim to work with Ubuntu I cannot find anyway of setting it up properly - so eg from Libreoffice it wont print on both sides
