OFFICE JET PRO 6978

I got an error to check jan paper or paper tray. I checked both and it is clear. Then I got a message to turn off the printer and back on, and if that doesn't work to contact HP.  I turned the printer off and back on several times, but I am still unable to print. It shows the following error number 0x610004a.

When I send a print job, it doesn't print. I checked the printer queue, and it appears as thought it is trying to connect to the printer, but it is not going through.

My computer screen shows a printer failure message, with this number on top (HP Office jet pro 6970 [543DC0]. It says to write down the indicated error code, and then contact support.

Can you please help me?

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's try to reset the Printer here:

Reset the product

  • With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
  • Wait at least 60 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back into the wall outlet.
  • Reconnect the power cord to the printer.
  • Turn the printer on. HP recommends plugging the printer directly into a wall outlet.

Also, try connecting the Printer to a different wall outlet directly.

Try upgrading the firmware: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c02919168

Let me know if this helps.
