Hello, and welcome to the HP Community @jujupud,
I understand you would like to unlock the administrator settings on your HP Officejet Pro 8610, but you have forgotten the password. I will be happy to help.
Your printer will need to be reset. I'll private message you the instructions you need to do so. Note that the reset will erase your wireless settings so you'll likely have to reconnect to your network when the reset's finished. (It's just like setting up the printer out of box at that point).
If this helps, show appreciation for my reply by hitting the “thumbs up” below, or click the "Accept as Solution" button if I have helped you reach a solution.
Thank you for posting in the HP Support Forum. Have a great day.

As I understand you want to unlock the administrator settings on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8610 printer. I'll be really glad to help you with this,
Let's start by performing a Hard reset on the printer.
Please make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.
Remove all the ink cartridges and then try to perform a hard reset on the printer.
With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.
Remove USB cable, if present.
Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.
Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.
Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.
Now insert the ink cartridges and then try to print a test page and check if it works.
If the issue persists, I would suggest the next option would be to perform a semi-full reset on the printer.
I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.
Let me know if that helps. Thank you!
Cheers
