HP Envy all in one printer
macOS 10.15 Catalina

Despite using a genuine HP cartridge, and hardly doing any printing, my Envy all in one printer sends out sheets with little smudges, and parts of letters missing, even on the Printer Status Report,which stated that the total of pages printed were 399. That must be over the life of the printer as I've done less than 25 pages since this cartridge went in about three months ago).

Hello,

In order to compensate for this incident, please follow the instructions of the HP link Black or Color Ink Not Printing, Other Print Quality Issues.

If the concern persists, try the following solution:

  1. On the front panel of the printer, click once on the location of the small house (the small house being inactive).
  2. Click once on the location of the return arrow (the arrow being inactive).
  3. Click twice on the location of the small house (the cottage being inactive).
  4. A hidden menu will appear, click Service menu.
  5. Scroll down to Service Tests, and validate with OK.
  6. Scroll to print head Rec Level 1, and validate with OK.
  7. At this level of cleaning complete a test page will print.
  8. If the quality is still insufficient switch to print head Rec Level 2 and print head Rec Level 3 eventually.
