Hi @Dot512,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you might be encountering an issue related to the print settings or the way the photo is being sent to the printer. Here are a few steps and considerations to help troubleshoot and resolve the issue.

Check Print Settings:

  • Ensure that the paper size selected in your print settings matches the size of the photo paper loaded in the printer (e.g., 5x7 or 4x6).
  • Make sure the paper type is set correctly to "Photo Paper" or an appropriate setting that matches the paper you're using.

Page Setup in Printing Software:

  • When you send a print job from your computer, there's usually an option to set the paper size and layout. Verify that this matches the size of your photo paper.
  • Double-check the preview before printing to ensure the entire photo is within the printable area of one sheet.

Printer Driver Update:

  • Check if there are any updates available for your printer's drivers and software. Sometimes, outdated drivers can cause printing issues.

Print Preview:

  • Use the print preview function if available to see how the photo will be laid out on the paper. This can help identify if the issue lies in the way the photo is being sent to the printer.

Margins and Scaling:

  • Ensure that no scaling options are selected that might inadvertently resize the photo or cause it to split across pages.

Paper Handling:

  • Check the paper tray to make sure the photo paper is loaded correctly and that it's not being pulled incorrectly by the printer during the printing process.

Printer Settings Adjustments:

  • Some printers have specific settings related to borderless printing or edge-to-edge printing. Ensure these settings are correctly configured if you're printing borderless photos.

Test with Different Photos and Sizes:

  • Try printing different photos and sizes to see if the issue persists across different files. This can help determine if the problem is specific to certain photos or a general printing issue.

By going through these steps, you should be able to narrow down the cause of the issue and hopefully resolve it.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
