I have installed a new router. I have connected my HP deskjet 2544 using WPS. Vodafone confirmed the printer is connected but the blue light on the printer is flashing and I cannot print  anything. Can you please explain this?

Hi @DAVP,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer's connectivity!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Ensure WPS Connection:

  • Make sure both your router and printer support WPS and follow the correct procedure to connect them.
  • On your printer, press and hold the Wireless button until it starts blinking. Within two minutes, press the WPS button on your router. The blue light should stop blinking and stay solid once connected.

Restart Devices:

  • Turn off your printer and router, wait for 30 seconds, and then turn them back on. This can often resolve connection issues.

Check Network Configuration:

  • Verify that the printer is connected to the correct network. Sometimes devices can connect to guest networks instead of the main network, leading to printing issues.

Printer and Router Placement:

  • Ensure the printer is within range of the router and there are minimal obstructions or interferences.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Check if there is a firmware update available for your printer that may improve connectivity. You can check for updates using the HP Smart app or by visiting the HP website.

Re-run Wireless Setup:

  • If the issue persists, you can try re-running the wireless setup using the HP software. Connect your printer to a computer using a USB cable and use the HP Printer Assistant to reconfigure the network settings.

Check Printer IP Address:

  • Make sure the printer has a valid IP address. Check the network settings page on your printer for details.

I hope this helps.
