wireless printer not being recognized by HP "Suppport Assistant" - OK with HP "Solution center"

HP Recommended
officejet 4500-G510n
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

4500 network printer not being recognized by "Support Assistant." tryiing to add to list of HP devices

 

I can reach it through "Solution Center" to do scans and faxes.

 

"Suppport Assistant" online support keeps requesting a "product number". 

I do not know or how to find "product number."

 

I have Model number as "G510n" on device label

I have serial number as"[edited]" on device label

I have device as" HP Officejet 4500 Wireless"

 

Can you help?

Welcome to the HP Forums. I would be happy to help you with your HP Officejet 4500 Printer. I understand that printer not found and you have already done some preliminary troubleshooting.

 

Don't worry though as I have a few steps to determine the issue and find a solution as well,

 

Restart the computer, printer, and router.

Manually connect the printer to your network.

Run the HP Print and Scan Doctor.

Temporarily disable firewall software on the computer.

Uninstall the HP driver and software.

Reinstall the HP software.

 

Click here and refer the document to perform the above steps.

 

Let me know if that works.
